Banned Books

«A Clockwork Orange»

Anthony Burgess’s terrifying dystopian novel «A Clockwork Orange» portrays a world of extreme violence, police brutality, and state control. Alex, the narrator and main character, lives for violence and the graphic scenes of beatings and rape are seen from his point of view. The moral question at the heart of the novel is revealed when, to get out of jail, Alex volunteers for an experimental programme that will turn him from a violent thug into a model citizen. The book asks whether goodness without free will is goodness at all.

In 1971, Stanley Kubrick’s film of the novel came out in the US.Banned for its extreme violence in parts of the US, and by a number
of councils in Britain when it was released there, the film suddenly drew atention to the novel. There were unsuccessful attempts to remove it from some US libraries, and a bookseller in Utah, was briefly arrested for selling it. Ironically, the most effective ban of the film was by
Kubrick, who came to believe that it inspired violence and took it out of
Circulation in the UK in 1973. The film was not re-released until 2019

bout myself

I’m Mary, I’m 17 years old and I’m in 12th grade.
I do music and art and am also interested in anime and various subcultures. I draw and most likely will become a designer, but I’m not sure about that, I’m also interested in theatrical art and want to make my own film, most likely abstract.
This year, one of the important events was my first visit to Europe, or more precisely to France. I spent about a week there and realized that I would really like to visit other countries, too, and that I really like traveling.
I’m in a music band, I sing there. And also about music, I can say that I listen to it a lot and really create my own.

It’s hard for me to talk about myself and I don’t really like to do it. but anyway I tried.

Internet in my life

The Internet in takes up quite a large part of my life, oddly enough, I can surf the Internet and on social networks, perhaps even the whole day.
I mostly use the internet for communication rather than anything else. But besides communication, I often watch anime over the same Internet.
Studying via the Internet is actually not as easy as it seems, maybe because of the WordPress itself, a slightly inconvenient application in itself. but in general, I like learning via the Internet, because it is very convenient to find information on the Internet about which you need to write or tell. however, this is not the only reason for the comfort of learning on the Internet, because you do not have to carry a bunch of books with you. After all, the Internet plays a very large role in our life, because we are developing and streaming to the future, too, mostly through the Internet.

Christmas Holidays in Japan

Japan is one of the most beautiful and unusual countries, where even Christmas holidays are celebrated in a very interesting way. Usually many Japanese go to temples on New Year’s, pray, and Japanese girls wear long, closed and beautiful dresses called kimano at such traditional events. The arrival of the new year is announced with 108 bells. They say that there are 108 pernicious worries, and each blow drives away one of them, bringing only happiness in the coming year.

On New Years in Japan, their traditional games are often played, and it is also considered a tradition to give money to children, this tradition is called otoshidama. Money is usually placed in small decorated envelopes called potibukuro. The amount of money that is put in an envelope depends on the age of the child, but if there are several children in the family, then the amounts are usually the same so that no one feels deprived.
